Yes, water in its molecular form (H2O) predates the formation of the sun and Earth. The hydrogen and oxygen atoms that make up water were created in the Big Bang and through stellar processes in earlier generations of stars. 

These elements, including hydrogen and oxygen, were present in the universe before the formation of our solar system, the sun, and Earth. The water we have on Earth has been around in various forms for a very long time, even before the specific formation of our planetary system.

Scientifically, it is also believed that the sun predates the earth we live in.
