This act serves to provide her with protein, which is essential for sustaining her strength. This strength becomes crucial because pregnant anacondas often fast throughout their approximately seven-month pregnancy period. The protein derived from the consumed male anaconda plays a significant role, as about 30% of her body weight is utilized in nurturing her offspring.
