Vegetables, on the other hand, are edible parts of plants such as roots, stems, leaves, or flowers. Avocado doesn't fit these criteria.


However, in culinary terms, avocados are often used in savory dishes like salads and spreads, which aligns with how vegetables are used in cooking. This can lead to confusion and the perception of avocados as vegetables, but scientifically, they remain fruits.
