WhatsApp to get significant interface overhaul.

WhatsApp is currently undergoing a significant interface overhaul, which involves changing colors and introducing chat filters. This revamp, highlighted by Wabetainfo, is evident in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.23.18.18, available on the Google Play Store. Key modifications include altering the background color, adjusting the top app bar navigation, and implementing chat filters.

Earlier, a switch from green to white for the background color was observed in June, and this alteration is now confirmed to be part of an upcoming app update. WhatsApp's top bar is also undergoing redesign, featuring an additional menu button positioned to the right, next to your profile avatar. The background color of this area and the top status bar is transitioning from green to white, while the WhatsApp logo on the app bar is changing from white to green.

Moreover, WhatsApp is actively developing a new feature allowing users to filter their conversations, sorting them into categories like unread messages, personal chats, or business discussions. This enhancement aims to offer users more control over their chat organization.

It's important to note that similar changes are underway for WhatsApp on iOS, indicating WhatsApp's commitment to align both apps with a consistent interface and feature set. These updates align with the Material Design 3 guidelines, Google's latest design system, which focuses on dynamic color, typography, motion, and components for a more personalized and accessible user experience across various platforms, including Android and iOS.

This new interface, featuring a white top app bar and a green app name, is currently in development and will be included in a forthcoming app update.

We just hope that we will get a better experience.
