Why people rise up with their level of their incompetencies in the public sector and politics.

People advancing in the public sector or in politics despite incompetencies can occur due to various reasons.

1. **Nepotism or Favoritism**: Connections or personal relationships might supersede merit in promotions or appointments, allowing individuals lacking competence to climb the ranks.

2. **Lack of Meritocracy**: In some cases, promotions may be based on tenure rather than actual performance, allowing less competent individuals to move up the hierarchy.

3. **Bureaucratic Systems**: The nature of bureaucratic systems can sometimes impede the removal of incompetencies due to complex processes or protections for employees.

4. **Political Interference**: Political influence or pressure can lead to appointments or promotions that disregard qualifications and competency.

5. **Lack of Accountability**: When there's a lack of effective evaluation and accountability mechanisms, those with incompetencies may go unnoticed or unaddressed.

6. **Inadequate Training**: Insufficient training programs or inadequate focus on skill development can result in employees lacking the necessary competencies for their roles.

7. **Fear of Change or Retaliation**: Coworkers or supervisors might hesitate to address incompetence due to fear of retaliation or a desire to maintain the status quo.

Addressing these issues involves fostering a culture of meritocracy, implementing transparent evaluation processes, providing adequate training, and promoting accountability in the public sector.

How can you relate to this in your country and work place?
