RCCG PASTOR NAMED A MONARCH: THE SOUN OF OGBOMOSO

Yes, that is correct. Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has been selected as the new Soun of Ogbomosoland. The appointment was made by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Olaoye is the son of the late Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Olaoye, who died in January 2021. He is a graduate of the University of Ibadan and holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos. He is also a certified public accountant.

Olaoye is a popular pastor in Ogbomoso and has a large following. He is known for his charismatic preaching and his commitment to social justice. He is also a strong advocate for education and women's empowerment.

His appointment as the new Soun of Ogbomosoland has been met with widespread jubilation. People are hopeful that he will be a wise and just ruler who will bring development to the town.

Here are some of the reactions to Olaoye's appointment:

  • "This is a great day for Ogbomosoland. Prince Olaoye is a well-educated and experienced man who will be a great Soun." - Chief Lekan Aremu, a community leader
  • "I am confident that Prince Olaoye will be a great leader for our people. He is a man of peace and progress." - Mrs. Bolanle Oladejo, a businesswoman
  • "This is a new dawn for Ogbomosoland. Prince Olaoye is the right person to lead us into the future." - Mr. Femi Adegoke, a youth leader

Olaoye is expected to be installed as the new Soun of Ogbomosoland in a ceremony later this year.

Long live the King!
